Summer Lovin'

Ella and I have been enjoying our first summer together.  The weather has been nice lately so we're trying to enjoy it!   Someone asked me today when I was going back to work and I said, "Next Thursday".  Then it started to set in.  I go back to work NEXT week!  Yikes!  Just another reason to soak up the sun until then.  And i'm going part-time, so it won't be all that bad :)  Here are some pics from the last week or so.

We went to a wedding in Iowa over the weekend.  His friend Trevor got married (the best man in our wedding).  We flew there and his parents watched Ella at our house.  They took good care of her, but it was still the longest 2 days of my life.  I missed her SOOO much!  This is the only picture we got of the two of us and I think it's hilarious because it looks like we're on the farm.  It was actually taken at the hotel outside the reception hall in front of a pretty cool backdrop.  Sweet, I know!  Chris obviously wasn't a fan of the purple tux, haha

Today Ella and I went to the zoo with our friends Kristy and Lillian.  Before I had Ella I gave Lilli private lessons at my sister's studio.  She is such a sweet little girl.  I've gotten to know them well and since i'm not teaching right now Lilli wanted to hang out, so we all went to the zoo.  It was a beautiful day!  Ella is obviously too young to enjoy it, but she says she's ready to go back next summer!

Ella celebrated her 2-month birthday on Tuesday.  She had her 2-month check-up today and now weighs 11 lbs 9 oz!  Such a big girl... she's growing so fast. She's starting to make lots of noises and smiles a lot.  It's so fun to watch her expressions.  She also enjoys sucking on her fingers now.  She gets really loud too... it's funny to hear!  Other than that, we're just hanging out and enjoying the summer.  I'm hoping the weather gets a little better during the day soon, it seems like it's usually raining or 90 out so we can't get out.  Maybe soon!

Here is a sneak peak of our first set of family photos.  I don't have the CD yet so I haven't seen them all yet.  I am happy with them so far, especially since it was nearly 90 degrees outside.  Ella did very well (probably helped that we had a little handheld fan to keep her cool).

Today was one of those days that just flew by and made me realize how fast time with Ella is going.  She is 6 weeks now, which means my maternity leave is halfway over!!  I am so glad I have so much time off, but I CANNOT believe how fast the first half has gone.  I have decided that I need to slow down and really enjoy my days (even more than I already thought I was).  

On another note, Ella is getting so big!  I'm guessing she's close to 10 lbs now.  She still has thrush and it hasn't improved at all.  Her doctor switched her to Diflucan (another antifungal).  We just started it tonight so hopefully that will work better.
