She's Here!

In case you haven't heard, Ella is here!  I have lots to update, but little time right now, so here are the stats :)

Ella Jane was born on April 21, 2011 at 5:10pm.  She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and is 20 1/4 inches long.  Ella is a healthy baby and mommy and daddy are doing well, just trying to catch up on sleep and figuring out her schedule :)

Make that 40 weeks and counting...

Yesterday's appointment went well.  The NST showed good results and I was still dilated at 1cm, so my doctor is going to induce me starting tomorrow evening.  I am getting so excited/anxious!  I can hardly sleep at night, even though I know I should be resting up.  I have been wide awake between 3-6am the last few nights.  I guess Ella is preparing me for what's ahead, but at least i'll have a little baby in my arms then!

Well, off to enjoy my last full day off!  I am done working now... for 12 whole weeks!  It is such a weird feeling, but in a good way.  I am so excited to spend the next 3 months at home with my little girl, and very thankful that I have the opportunity to do so.  Will keep you posted in the next few days :)

39 weeks and counting...

At my appt today I was still 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. The ultrasound showed that my fluids are okay (still 11cm) so that is good but not on the high end.  She appears to be healthy based on her measurements and the ultrasound estimates that she is 7 lbs 5 oz!! (which can vary by a pound or so in estimation).  

My doctor wants me to come in on Monday, on my due date, to do a NST (non stress-test), to look at her movements, heart rate, and reactivity of heart rate to movement.  It also measures contractions.  If the baby does not react to this test as expected, she will induce me then.  But if everything looks good, then she wants to induce me on Thursday (going in on Wed evening to get things started). I guess she wants to induce me sooner than later because my fluids have been on the lower side (even though they are still considered normal) and she doesn't like to wait too long because of complications that can occur.  

So, now we will wait!  Maybe I will just go into labor over the weekend and will not have to worry about induction :)  At least we know that my little bunny will be here by Easter Sunday! Thanks for all of your prayers and concern!!!

Almost There

I am offically due one week from tomorrow!  It seems crazy to say that, but i'm so excited! I can't wait to meet her.  I was dilated 1cm on Thursday and 50% effaced.  It's a slow start!  If nothing happens by this Thursday, my doctor is going to do another ultrasound to check my fluids and measurements, and then we'll go from there based on the ultrasound.
