Another Update

Well, I am still measuring about the same (33 1/2 weeks today) but my fluid increased from 9 to 11.5.  I just saw a Nurse Practitioner today because my doctor is still out of town until tomorrow, so I didn't really get any new info, but she seemed pleased with the results.  She was moving around a lot during the ultrasound, so that is good.  

I've been having Braxton Hicks more frequently this week, but nothing like the contractions I had on Sunday night.  My next appointment is next Thursday.  Until then, I will just keep drinking water like crazy. :)

Ready or not...

Baby update

I was working yesterday and about an hour before close I started having contractions.  They were about 5 minutes apart so I called my doctor.  She said since I wasn't dilated on Thursday I would have quite awhile to go before anything happened.  So I finished out my shift and headed home to see how things went.  I had contractions for about 4 hours total.  I had three pretty intense ones, and then they let up.  I got a good night's rest and have only had a few this morning, but nothing consistent. 

Also, when I was at my appt on Thursday they did an ultrasound because I was still measuring around 32/33 weeks.  My amniotic fluid is a little low but Ella is over 5 lbs and in the 45th percentile.  The doctor seemed pleased with this, except for the low fluid.  I'm drinking lots and lots of water to hopefully increase my fluids and also decreasing my activity some.

Needless to say, it was kind of a wakeup call to us.  I mean, it's not even April yet, so we didn't expect anything to happen.  We both packed last night just in case we were going to be headed to the hospital.  Thankfully we didn't have to go anywhere.  Don't get me wrong, i'm ready to meet Ella, but I think she needs to bake just a little bit longer!  (Plus my sister is on a cruise, my doctor is in Florida, my best friend is going to Florida on Thursday, my mom is not here yet, and Denise, one of the pharmacists at my store is on vacation.  So it's just not an ideal week... but I know in the end it's up to Ella)  

On another note, we had maternity pics taken over the weekend.  My friend Megan did such a wonderful job.  Thanks Megan -- we love them!  It will be such a great way to remember this time!

Back to Back Final Four?!

What a game! I am SO excited for the Bulldogs! So excited that I was having braxton hicks with 33 seconds to go at the end of the game (before overtime). And yes, I was sitting down :)

Way to stop those gators!

I knew they could do it, but it's still unbelievable! A back to back visit to the Final Four? Just seems too good to be true! Just think, we could be going back to the national championship game again! Brings back memories from last year :)

Of course we wouldn't actually be going to the game this year, although Chris did consider going, but I politely reminded him that I will be almost 38 weeks pregnant and I just might need him here if I go into labor!

Bulldogs!

How about that game last night? If you missed it -- it was a good one! Kept me on the edge of my seat, that's for sure! Here is a video of the end in case you missed it. I actually felt bad for Pittsburgh after an ending like that.




Let's hope we play well on Thursday so we can prove that we deserved to win that game!

One year later...

It's hard to believe, but this was my due date one year ago today.  More importantly, it's amazing to look back over the year to see what God has brought us through.  I am so thankful for the lessons i've learned and of course, for the little girl growing inside me.  We all know that if we had not lost our first baby, Ella would not be on her way.  So, it's kind of a bittersweet day I guess.  I'm thankful for all that we've been blessed with, but am also reminded of our loss and how we could've had a 1-year old today.  All I know is that we are looking forward to meeting Ella, and that this was God's plan for us.  We are eager to see what He has planned for us next, because it's probably nothing like what "our plan" would be.  Happy 1st Birthday sweet Logan, you are still in our hearts.

Five weeks and counting

Well, with only 5 weeks left, I guess it's time for another update!  (Yes, I said FIVE!  Wowza!)

• I am feeling pretty good these days, just really tired.  I am able to work shorter shifts because I saved up enough vacation days, so that has been awesome!  I try to sit at least for a little while (on a very uncomfortable stool), but my back and feet still hurt, so that is why this is such a blessing :)
• Ella has officially met my ribcage.  The doctor thinks she is head down (which is what I suspected as well), and she loves to kick my ribs.  Guess she's just looking for more room, eh?
• Last week (at 34 weeks) I measured at 32.  The doctor didn't seem too concerned.  She said she thinks I am going to have a smaller baby and that it could have to do with the fact that I am smaller as well.  She also said it could just be the position she is in.  Since my blood pressure is fine, I have no swelling, and I am still gaining weight, she is not concerned at this time.
• Total weight gain so far:  19 lbs
• Still my favorite part:  feeling Ella move.  Her hiccups keep me entertained as well :)

As for the nursery, it is almost done.  Just have to hang the curtain rod/window valence, and a shelf.  My dad is going to do that when he gets here because Chris is the "not-so-handy-man".  Haha  (It's okay... he knows it)!

 I can't wait to meet my little sweet pea!

Nolan

Just a quick update...

Nolan started doing better over the weekend and finally got to go home on Saturday! They were able to decrease his oxygen until it was completely off, and the doctors felt comfortable with sending him home after taking a nap without any oxygen at all. Finally going on a ride in the famous Riley wagon!

Thanks for all of you that have prayed and asked about Nolan... you are all so sweet and caring.  I'm so glad that Nolan is home.  Hopefully he will recover well from his hospital stay!
