first family pics

Here is a sneak peak of our first set of family photos.  I don't have the CD yet so I haven't seen them all yet.  I am happy with them so far, especially since it was nearly 90 degrees outside.  Ella did very well (probably helped that we had a little handheld fan to keep her cool).

Today was one of those days that just flew by and made me realize how fast time with Ella is going.  She is 6 weeks now, which means my maternity leave is halfway over!!  I am so glad I have so much time off, but I CANNOT believe how fast the first half has gone.  I have decided that I need to slow down and really enjoy my days (even more than I already thought I was).  

On another note, Ella is getting so big!  I'm guessing she's close to 10 lbs now.  She still has thrush and it hasn't improved at all.  Her doctor switched her to Diflucan (another antifungal).  We just started it tonight so hopefully that will work better.

one month update

Ella had her 1-month check-up today.  She weighs 8lbs 11oz already!  Here I thought she was still 7 lbs.  Yikes!  She is 21 inches now and in the 30th percentile for weight and 40th for height.  Her head is in the 35th percentile.  The doctor was pleased with her growth and health.  She just has a yeast infection (thrush) that we are going to treat with Nystatin.  It is pretty common in breastfed babies.  I had just noticed that her tongue was white yesterday so i'm glad we went to the doctor today.  Ella does not like the doctor.  She always ends up screaming by the time we leave... poor girl.  That's all for now :)

the many faces of Ella

Can you believe it?  She's one month old already.  I can't.  It has gone WAY too fast, and all I keep thinking about is that I have to go back to work in 2 more months.  It's funny, because that seemed like an eternity while I was pregnant with her, but now each day seems to fly by.  I am trying to savor each moment and each day the best I can.  Here are some recent pics.  I know, i've fallen behind (I've been notified by friends... hehe).
